Dex One forecasts down year

Dex One, the Cary-based association that publishes yellow pages directories in twenty-eight states, reported this sunrise that promotion sales fell twenty percent for the full year 2009 and foresee ad sales will tumble an additional 10 percent to fifteen percent this year.

Advertising sales are a heading indicator of destiny income for the company, prior to well known as R.H. Donnelley, that emerged from failure at the finish of January.

"Although mercantile conditions have softened from a year ago, realistic stagnation and parsimonious credit for internal businesses have stymied the patron base," Steven Blondy, arch monetary officer, pronounced in a rebuilt statement."

The companys income totaled $2.20 billion in 2009, down from $2.62 billion a year earlier.

CEO David C. Swanson pronounced in a rebuilt matter that the companys opening was in line with the industry average. Advertising sales for media companies have been strike tough by the recession.

The association reported that EBITDA -- gain prior to interest, taxes, debasement and amortization, that is a key indicator of opening for companies with large debt -- was $1.15 billion, down nineteen percent from 2008. Those EBITDA numbers have been practiced to bar billions in non-cash charges stemming from a write-down of organization to help the poor and alternative unsubstantial assets.

The association lost $6.5 billion for the year, down from a loss of $2.3 billion a year ago.
